Born in 1970 in Odesa. He graduated from the Odesa Art School of M. B. Grekov.

Igor Gusev has been participating in exhibitions since the early 90s and is a representative of the New Wave of Ukrainian contemporary art. He founded the underground gallery "Norma", which existed for 3 years. After Russia's full-scale invasion, he has been actively involved in art projects that highlight the themes of military aggression and decolonization. He participated in the exhibition-reflection "Invasion" (2022) in Prague, the exhibition "Sacred Import Substitution" (2022) in Paris, and the exhibition "Language Exercise" in Baku (2023).
